To escape one's home is dreaded
So much so that it is unthinkable
And often
Nay, more than often
The same building goes down and comes up before our eyes
Never known what could have been there
The fear of the new is paralysis
Leaving our homes is first nature
Tied we are for now
But we will leave one soon day
I can never sit without cussing mosquitoes
Or the heat
Or the humidity
Or the crowds
Or the police
Let me be
I want to leave your embrace
